Sept. 08, 2014 - Refresh

A few weekends back Mari awoke on a beautiful Saturday morning and began stressing out about, well specifically about nothing, but generally about the inadequate size of our apartment in combination with the collection of oversized furniture we own. Really, it was just one of those grouchy side effects that rears its head from a 6 1/2 month pregnant woman, but we took it as beckoning call for change. The result of this stressed out grouch sessions was that we decided to take pictures of several items in our house and post them on Craigslist for sale. Out with the old, in with the new. Time for a breath of fresh air.
Gone
 Gone
 Gone
 Gone

It all really boiled down to the fact that Mari has always found the couches uncomfortable. Because they were leather they were always sticky in the summer and cold in the winter. The shelf was abandoned because realistically it only holds junk. And the long 8' computer desk was a remnant from our student days and is now a tad too long, plus we could use this extra space for the future baby items headed our way. All in all, we decided it was time to hit the refresh button on our living room web page.

Unfortunately, the part of that equation with lack of foresight was that we were left with an empty, crappy looking apartment for a few weeks, with limited sitting options and a kitchen table as a computer desk, and everything that was once stored in a shelving unit stacked around the room.

But today, finally our prayers were answered. Mari found the needle in the haystack on Craigslist. The four leaf clover and a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow all rolled into one. A Kasala Sydney Sectional. This is the pic from the Craigslist ad. Only 18 months old and in exceptional condition.

Now we can finally resume semi normal lives and once again relax in the comfort of our own living room. Yet, we are still on the look out for a new, compact computer desk and exquisite kitchen table. The hunt continues.
